Brian nissle, assistant coach

Brian Nissle has been an avid baseball player since youth, and coach, since 1998 when he began coaching in the local Meriden/Wallingford area’s recreational leagues. From 2012 to 2014 he assisted the CT Hornets. Following that, from 2013- 2016, Brian served as Coach for Washington Middle school in Meriden. During his coaching at Washington, the team’s records improved from a 0-12 record to 5-4 record over the first 3 years. After the fourth year, Brian accepted an opportunity to coach at the Wilcox Technical High School and also coached with the Lady Knights (14U-18U) for five years from 2015-2019, working with Davaina Hernandez who played at UMASS (D1) for 4 years and was on the Puerto Rican National Team.

Currently, Brian is proud to be Assistant Coach of The Freedom Elite 18U under Tony DeLorenzo, responsible for all aspects of coaching duties to include conditioning, managing practices, score keeping, team communications, and tournament execution. It is Brian’s goal to provide both on and off the field learning experiences for all athletes. Brian accredits his success as a coach to the many teachers that came before him and hopes to pass on his knowledge and resources to the players on the Freedom Elite roster.
